Jodha Akbar Lovers' Facebook App
Zee Tv has launched a Facebook app as yet another marketing tool for their historical magnum opus ‘Jodha Akbar’. It allows couples to inscribe their names on virtual historical monuments! Romantic, much?
The idea is to allow lovers express their love, without defacing the real ones. Once the user has typed their name and the name of their partner, the app gives them a choice between posting an image of their ‘immortal space’ on their Facebook pages and sending their significant other a more detailed love note via a message. The app can be accessed on Zee TV’s official Facebook homepage https://www.facebook.com/ZeeTvIndia
“We need adequate and timely measures to conserve the national heritage rather than allow its own citizens to deface historically significant monuments with graffiti. This is what prompted us to come up with a unique solution whereby we provide lovers with an interesting space to express their love in the virtual arena.” says Mr. Akash Chawla, Head - Marketing, National Channels, ZEEL.
Zee Tv has been known for unique marketing campaigns. Just recently, Zee Tv’s Punar Vivah campaign won a coveted award. For Jodha Akbar, this isn’t their first campaign stint with the social media. Before the launch, we had Pinterest boards for viewers which familiarized them with the Mughal Era. Then on the day of the launch, the channel organized free sherbet stalls outside dargahs across UP, Delhi and Rajasthan. Soon enough, their next marketing strategy would be to take school students on a guided ‘educational’ tour of the set to teach them about the Muhgal Empire.
With their unique ideas and their executions, looks like Zee’s dedicated marketing team is constantly on its toes.
Watch ‘Jodha Akbar’, every Monday to Friday at 8 PM, only on Zee TV.
