Ashish receives a warm welcome from Rohini and Pinky as he comes to Rohit s home but as soon as Rohini leaves the room, he makes it a point to apologize to Pinky for being rude to her! He goes upstairs to meet Gayatri but she pointedly ignores him till he breaks down and sobs in her lap like a baby. Rohit is overjoyed to meet his friend, philosopher and guide from his sruggling days Yashwant who has come with his son. He embraces him and confesses that whatever he has managed to achieve in this heartless city is because of Yashwant s encouragement and generosity! But Yashwant attributes Rohit s success to his hard work and writing skills instead. He is presently working in Dubai for a TV channel where stars from Mumbai appear constantly. Yashwant got this job on account of Rohit who is sad to hear of his mother s death Yashwant conveys his respects to Gayatri and then asks if he ever met Shivani Memsaab and Rohit denies having met her with a straight face. Rohit remembers his first encounter with Yashwant when he had told him that he had come to Mumbai from Sholapur to become a hero but his dreams died in 3 days and ever since then he has been a canteen boy serving tea! Avinash rings up Shivani and tells her he has been selected to represent India in Canada for a period of 6 months but she fights back her tears and requests him not to go.
