Ashish receives a warm welcome from Rohini and Pinky as he comes to Rohit s home but as soon as Rohini leaves the room, he makes it a point to apologize to Pinky for being rude to her! He goes upstairs to meet Gayatri but she pointedly ignores him till he breaks down and sobs in her lap like a baby. Rohit is overjoyed to meet his friend, philosopher and guide from his sruggling days Yashwant who has come with his son. He embraces him and confesses that whatever he has managed to achieve in this heartless city is because of Yashwant s encouragement and generosity! But Yashwant attributes Rohit s success to his hard work and writing skills instead. He is presently working in Dubai for a TV channel where stars from Mumbai appear constantly. Yashwant got this job on account of Rohit who is sad to hear of his mother s death Yashwant conveys his respects to Gayatri and then asks if he ever met Shivani Memsaab and Rohit denies having met her with a straight face. Rohit remembers his first encounter with Yashwant when he had told him that he had come to Mumbai from Sholapur to become a hero but his dreams died in 3 days and ever since then he has been a canteen boy serving tea! Avinash rings up Shivani and tells her he has been selected to represent India in Canada for a period of 6 months but she fights back her tears and requests him not to go.

Film Shoppe’s ‘Sailaab’ written & directed by Ravi Rai, is essentially love story between Shivani (Renuka Shahane) & Rohit (Sachin Khedekar). Rohit, is an aspiring novelist & writer who soon dicovers how cruel this city of dreams can be. Hailing from Calcutta, he switches tracks & starts writing for films once he falls in love with Shivani. Shivani’s elder brother Vijay (Raju Kher) sings his praises & appreciates his intellect till he finds out that he is in love with his sister! Vijay, like all brothers, is keen to see Shivani settled with a person who is financially sound & the idealisitic writer in pursuit of an elusive dream doesn't inspire much confidence!
Shivani gets married to a doctor Avinash (Ajikya Deo/Mahesh Thakur) who is extremely wealthy too. Rohit tie the knot in court with Gayatri on the rebound almost. But to Gayatri’s credit, she stood by Rohit when he was in a most vulnerable phase having just lost his father & still in a fluid stage as far as his career is concerned. Past & present intermingle freely to say nothing of frequently as Shivani, Rohit & Gayatri mull over their past & contemplate their future with an intensity that makes their old friends like Vicky (Bhushan Jeevan), Nilu (Neelofer) & Girish (Makrand Deshpande) nervous & fear a momentous storm brewing! Do their fears prove to be true or do Shivani & Rohit live happily ever after with their respective spouses?
