Vidya is worried about how the dishes for dinner have turned out because she does not know Sagar's tastes now, but Uma reassures her. Vidya is relieved when everyone, including Sagar, relishes their dinner. One of them points to Vidya and comments that he's sure Sagar's wife must have prepared everything but Sagar replies that he is not even married and his maid had prepared the food. Vidya is upset. To add salt to wound, Sagar even tips Vidya with a Rs. 500 note. Aniket and Uma see Vidya's plight and decide to reveal the truth to Sagar. Uma tells Sagar how his father and she had visited Benares to get him married but then they had met Vidya. However, Sindoora comes just then and says that their father decided that Sagar need not get married if they could get such a good maid! Sagar isn't convinced and tells Aniket and Uma that there's something more. Sagar says that whenever they speak about Vidya, he feels that it has something to do with her marriage. Sagar asks many questions about Vidya but Sindoora convinces him not to get so worked up about it. Later, Uma and Aniket argue with Sindoora. Sindoora pretends to be concerned about her brother and asks them to destroy Sagar by telling him the truth! Meanwhile, Cheenu asks Shalu to remain just his wife and not to ape any actor. Shalu is totally smitten. On the other hand, Sagar tells Vidya that he wants to meet her husband right away! Vidya is shocked!
The compelling saga about a genteel, lovely but illiterate girl, Vidya who hails from the holy town of Benares in India, and marries Sagar under strange circumstances. Sagar is the son of a rich landlord but has been rendered intellectually challenged because of an accident. Sindoora, Sagar's eldest stepsister, is very greedy and wants to grab all of her deceased father's property that he had willed to Vidya before dying. She hates Vidya and spares no opportunity to humiliate and torture her, along with the help of her other two sisters, Mahua and Chandra. However, Vidya tries to keep the family united with her calm demeanour and extraordinary patience. With her love, she even manages to get Sagar on the right track and he eventually falls in love with her, but their new found happiness is short-lived. The plot takes an interesting twist when Sagar and Vidya get killed by Sindoora but they are reborn as Amar and Divya, respectively. Will they be able to avenge their death from Sindoora in their new life?
