Sudarshan asks Mrs. Nair whether she had given the same tablet to Sagar as always, so she replies that she had. Sudarshan wonders how Sagar had remained so calm the entire day. Shivani enters the room then and says that it is great news! She insists on doing her case study on Sagar but Sudarshan remains evasive. Shivani says to herself that Sagar was being given faulty medicines all along but now she had changed it! She wants to now get her hands on Sagar's file. Meanwhile, Sindoora informs Uma about what had happened in the market. Vidya comes then and tells everyone that she is leaving the house because she has become a burden on everyone. Tushar stops her and promises that she will never be alone because he will marry her. A furious Vidya slaps him and demands to know how he can speak to a married woman in this manner! Tushar offers to explain but Vidya stops him short. Vidya is about to leave when Uma collapses. The doctor tends to her and asks the family whether there was anything worrying her. Meanwhile, Hema packs her bags to leave for Benares but Cheenu drags her back. Later, Tushar tells Vidya that he had made a promise to her to be by her side but he had also made a promise to Sagar to always look after him and his family. However, Vidya remains firm about her decision. Uma regains consciousness and asks Vidya not to blame Tushar. Uma tells Vidya that she will not eat until she gives her consent for the marriage. Kaushalya and every other member of the family pressurise Vidya to agree to the marriage but she walks away. Tushar asks Vidya to only listen to her heart. On the other hand, Vidya goes to meet Sagar. She tells him about the family asking her to marry Tushar, but Sagar orders her to go away and gets agitated. Sudarshan asks his ward boys to take Vidya out. Vidya keeps pleading that she cannot live without him.
The compelling saga about a genteel, lovely but illiterate girl, Vidya who hails from the holy town of Benares in India, and marries Sagar under strange circumstances. Sagar is the son of a rich landlord but has been rendered intellectually challenged because of an accident. Sindoora, Sagar's eldest stepsister, is very greedy and wants to grab all of her deceased father's property that he had willed to Vidya before dying. She hates Vidya and spares no opportunity to humiliate and torture her, along with the help of her other two sisters, Mahua and Chandra. However, Vidya tries to keep the family united with her calm demeanour and extraordinary patience. With her love, she even manages to get Sagar on the right track and he eventually falls in love with her, but their new found happiness is short-lived. The plot takes an interesting twist when Sagar and Vidya get killed by Sindoora but they are reborn as Amar and Divya, respectively. Will they be able to avenge their death from Sindoora in their new life?
